During a recent trip to Summersville, I stopped for lunch at The Local and was pleasantly surprised. While I wasn't expecting a bar and pool tables, the food was outstanding! I had one of the best burgers I've ever tasted, and the fries were perfectly cooked. Candace provided excellent service and ensured I was happy with everything. I would definitely eat here again.

What a great find. The atmosphere was great, food was amazing, and service was excellent. I love a good dive bar, and this place is top of the list of places. If you're looking for a spot to stop in town, this is your spot for a good time. Would recommend highly.

We had the pretzel bites with beer cheese and they were DELICIOUS best cheese I’ve ever had. Also had the bacon cheddar fries they were pretty good also. For our entree we had the grilled chicken sandwich with pineapple and teriyaki, may have been called Hawaiian chicken sandwich and it was mouthwatering good! So juicy and delicious. Also had the chips and chicken bowl. It was very good also could have maybe used a bit of cilantro for a more authentic taste but it was still pretty good. Service was TOP NOTCH! Our server was fabulous. We came in after a day on the lake midweek and had no wait. Family friendly dining with delicious meals. Craft beers and tasty appetizers.

The food was great and Candace made us feel like we were visiting family! So glad to find such a wonderful place to stop and grab a bite on our way through. Highly recommend the burgers and the trash can fries!

Stopped here after Bridge Day for a burger and was not disappointed! The WV Local Burger was delicious, as were the fries. The owner, Matt, stopped at our table to check on things. Very good!

Stopped by on a road trip and I wish I was closer to come back! They had a small stage inside for what seemed like live music, along with multiple pool tables, which seemed to be in good condition. I believe there was also outside seating in the back of the bar as well. The food was great with both typical bar food and healthy/clean options as well - we had a burger, chicken bowl, and fried pickles. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
